It’s that wonderfully wicked time of year again — when the lights go low, the cauldrons bubble, and the kitchen becomes your own haunted laboratory. Whether you’re hosting a full-on Halloween bash or just want to serve up something eerie and fun for a cozy night in, this lineup of creepy (and seriously tasty) recipes will cast a delicious spell over your table. Start things off with Eyeball Pesto Pizza, a ghoulishly green pie topped with “eyeballs” made from gooey mozzarella and black olive pupils — perfectly unsettling and utterly irresistible. Then, bring some spooky charm to the main course with Meatball Ghosts, where tender meatballs hide under draped rice paper “sheets” for a hauntingly clever bite that’s equal parts spooky and savory. No Halloween spread is complete without a little dark magic for dessert. Sink your sweet tooth into Melting Witch Brownies, complete with candy hats and a splash … Continue reading

Luck of the Irish
St Patrick’s Day is fast approaching. Do you have plans to celebrate? I’m admittedly well past the years of bar hopping downtown to drink some mediocre green beer in an overcrowded bar…. I tend to opt for a more homebound celebration that involves some good food, maybe a cocktail or 2, and allows me to be in my jammies by 8pm 6pm 😊 This year, we are going to make the following recipes for our St Patrick’s Day dinner: Pot of Gold Mimosa Irish Soda Muffins Guinness Glazed Meatballs Irish Cream Brownies The Pot of Gold Mimosa is an elevated mimosa to be St Patrick’s Day themed. This is a cocktail I like to enjoy while making dinner as well as during dinner. It’s very light and refreshing. The recipe can be found here. Start by adding 3 oz of orange juice to a champagne glass. Next, add ½ oz of vodka (you can always skip the … Continue reading

St Paddy’s Provisions
St Patrick’s Day is a fun holiday for everyone! You can usually find some type of celebration around town whether it be a parade, green beer at your favorite bar or specials on Irish food at restaurants. Even if you aren’t Irish, it’s fun to participate in the festivities. We like to watch the parade and enjoy an adult beverage with the dressed-up crowds (the people watching is phenomenal), then head home for a feast! Some years we like to enjoy traditional Irish food but other years we like to take a favorite dish and add and Irish twist. It really depends on what we feel like cooking that day! This year, we are going to enjoy the following menu with friends and family: Reuben Dip Guinness Cheddar Mac & Cheese Guinness Glazed Chicken Sandwich Irish Mule Guinness Brownies The Reuben Dip is our appetizer and something to much … Continue reading

Black Bean Brownies
Black Bean Brownies are moist, rich, and fudge-y. I bet you never thought you would hear “black beans’ and “brownies” in the same sentence 🙂 Most people look at me like I’m crazy and ask if they heard right. Yes – Black Bean Brownies are a thing and they are delicious! They are also healthy and easy to make. The recipe can be found here. One thing I want to mention is this recipe can be Vegan, if Vegan chocolate chips are used, and it can also be Gluten Free, if the oats used are Gluten Free. Start by preheating the oven and prepping an 8×8 baking pan with cooking spray. Combine all ingredients in the bowl of a food processor, except for the chocolate chips, and process until smooth. You might need to turn off the food processor and scrape the sides a few times. Once processed, I like … Continue reading
